CALLAN

Now eleven, Callan is thriving — staying active in taekwondo, doing well in school, and especially shining on his guitar as he embraces his inner rock star.

After 13 neurosurgeries to relieve pressure on his brain as a result of Complex Multi-Suture non-Specific Craniosynostosis, Callan now faces ongoing challenges with his vision due to damage to his optical nerves. Though he recently experienced a decline in his eyesight, he now has new glasses and continues regular eye exams as his family holds onto hope and focuses on helping him experience as much of the world as possible.
When Callan was just three years old when his journey began with Complex Multi-Suture Syndromic Non-Specific Craniosynostosis. In addition, he also has a genetic component with overactive osteoblasts that causes his skull bones to fuse back together rapidly, which puts a lot of pressure on his brain.
Callan’s mom Jennifer says, “Dealing with the stress and burden of everything else during an emergency or surgery is heavy enough, but knowing that help is there when we need it is an amazing relief.
Thank you, FACES and all your supporters!”
